The Role

Oxfam International is looking for a Senior French Translations Officer to provide high quality translations of external and internal communications and technical materials from English into French.

Oxfam is an international confederation working globally in different languages. Recognizing the importance of this, the Translations Team helps meet the translations needs of such a large international organization. From emergency appeals, media releases, annual reports, program management toolkits, strategic plans, HR materials, to internal communications – the Translations Team works across all of these. Oxfam’s global languages are English, French, Spanish and Arabic, As part of the team, the Senior French Translations Officer plans projects with clients, translates directly from English to French, coordinates translations in all global languages with external suppliers, organizes proofreading, works proactively on quality management and promotes awareness and best practices.

Our next Senior French Translations Officer will have a master's degree or equivalent in translation or any other relevant language and has a minimum of five years of experience in a translation role. The Translations Officer will also need to have great understanding with CAT and terminology management tools. Excellent project and time management skills will also be required.
