One Oxfam Grade: D1

Salary and benefits: Oxfam International is unable to guarantee the obtaining of a work permit for the role. Candidates must have and be able to retain the legal right to work in the location in which they are based. We are not able to support the relocation of a candidate to take up the position in another Oxfam location

The Role

Oxfam International is looking for a Personal Assistant to the Program Director to provide high-level PA support to the Director of the International Programme Team and project management on key initiatives.

Who we’re looking for

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, proven influence and negotiating skills at senior levels, and the ability to influence across Oxfam and externally, and act with diplomacy and discretion
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure, juggling multiple tasks, and retaining a positive, ‘can-do’ attitude.
  • Experience working as a PA at CEO/Executive Director level.
  • Proven ability to analyze and synthesize large amounts of complex information and communicate it simply
  • Ability to think strategically and identify opportunities, challenges, and risks
  • High levels of Project Management skills in complex environments
  • Ability to work quickly and effectively, thrive in a high-pressure environment, and be tenacious
  • Proven ability to organize, plan and prioritize work
  • Desire to develop skills and learn; ability to work flexibly, be service-oriented, and understand how to support busy people effectively and able to adapt readily to change
  • A good working knowledge of Oxfam’s procedures, systems, and practices with an understanding of Oxfam’s strategic and budget planning cycle
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain administrative systems
  • Expertise in producing minutes for key internal and external meetings
  • Proven ability to work accurately with attention to detail and to produce clear written communications, letters, reports
  • Excellent computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases, and a willingness to develop new skills
  • Commitment to equal opportunities and to promoting gender in all aspects of Oxfam's work
  • Availability to travel, maximum 15 % of the time. Time flexibility to ensure coordination with other time different countries.
  • Ability to respond to a variety of questions relating to the job
  • Effective use of technology and department procedures to assist in the achievement of objectives
